“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.” - Henry David Thoreau
"We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal, and then leap in the dark to our success." -
Henry David Thoreau
June 28, 2014 - Algonquin Grove - Settler's Cabin Park - Pittsburgh, PA
Welcome to the website for the 6th Annual "Hell Hath No Hurry" Trail Challenge. This low key event is aimed towards those who like to go into the woods and see what they are made of. The event takes place in Settler's Cabin Park near the Pittsburgh International Airport during the early summer, expect temperatures that will range from low 70's and sun to hazy hot and humid. This event is low-key and personal, but has hand crafted finishers awards and a top notch aid station.
This year brings another change to the event, and that going from time events to fixed distance races. All runners will be traversing the same 10K loop for 1, 3, 5, or 8 times as they make their way to race goal distances of 10K, 30K, 50K or 50 Miles. The start times will be staggered so that all races will finish at nearly the same time and their will be a full BBQ complete with beer and soda for all runners, crew, volunteers and friends at the start/finish line. Elite Runners Race Management service will be doing the race timing using their Chronotrack timing system, so all results will be up very quickly after the event.
If this event sounds like something you'd like to try please sign up and give it a try. I do this race to promote the trails in Settlers Cabin park and to provide a trail running venue in Pittsburgh that is accessible to all levels of fitness. If you have questions / comments or concerns please email me by clicking on my name below. Also, if you are interested in volunteering, send me an email. All volunteers get a shirt, free entry to the next years event, and the gratitude of other ultra runners. See you on the trails.
