“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.” - Henry David Thoreau
"We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal, and then leap in the dark to our success." -

June 27, 2015 - Algonquin Grove - Settler's Cabin Park - Pittsburgh, PA
Welcome to the website for the 7th Annual "Hell Hath No Hurry" Trail Challenge. Expect this year to be very similar to last years event but hopefully with more participants and even better trails. Over the course of the past year Pittsburgh Trail Advocacy Group (PTAG) has done an impressive amount of work on the trails within Settler's Cabin Park. From building bridges over creek crossing to re-routing steeper sections, the trails are very runnable and awesome! I would advise getting out and running the trails to check them out for yourself. You can find more information about PTAG and the Settlers Cabin Trails at their website http://ptagtrails.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/settlerstrails/timeline
When I started doing this race 6 years ago, my intention was to raise awareness of the trails within Settler's Cabin and provide runners an opportunity to do something epic. Up until this point, there was never any profit made from the race and whatever was left after one year was carried over to the next. This has provided the resources needed to put on what I consider a first class event. However, I feel that I have finally made it to a point of financial stability and at the conclusion of this years race, a donation will be donated to PTAG in order to support all the trail work going on within Settler's Cabin Park. This continues my mission of promoting the trails of Settler's Cabin and allows for some other people to benefit from the race.
So what is in store for runners this year. The exact course has not yet been laid out, but I'm planning on a similar 10K loop with an aid station near the halfway point. Race distances and start times are not changing, entrant goodies may change from visors to socks, but this is not yet confirmed. The same finishers awards with custom finishers plates are also planned, as well as fully stocked aid stations and a post-race BBQ with Dogs, Burgers and Beers. Same as last year, if you volunteered the previous year, THANK YOU!, but email me to obtain free entry to this years race. Also, if you are the race director for another race, email me about obtaining free entry into this years race.
Finally, if you like this race and would like to help out, I'm looking for volunteers. I'm looking for nice people who want to help out with trail work before the race and on race day with the aid stations, parking, registration, etc... Please e-mail our volunteer coordinator directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who has come out and either participated in or volunteered in this race. I hope that you consider coming out again this year and spending another day in the woods!
